My man Phillip

Hey all,

So, tonight is the American Idol finale, and Phillip Phillips, (great name, huh?) the one I've been rooting for since his audition, has made it to the end.

Yes!

Seriously, this guy is....incredible. He's so talented and he's a great entertainer. There isn't really a point to this post, other than to share my views and say please, please think good thoughts for Phillip tonight! I really hope he wins.....

little things

We've had a beginning to our Spring that has been so busy, yet fulfilling. This time of year when the school year is supposed to be winding down seems to be when most teachers decide it's time for a presentation night, award night, recital, mandatory practice, etc. This also seems to be the time when all the big 'final' projects are assigned. But hey, these are the times I'll look back on and instead of remembering the busy, stressed out feeling I've been having lately, I'll remember how rewarding it was to finish it all.

At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

So what's new in our neck of the woods? For starters, at the beginning of April I got to go to Outdoor School with my class.
I had a blast. So memorable and fun. That's my cabin group above: me, Linden, Quincey, and Emily.
Bus rides are the best part, right? I swear, all my friends have beauitful eyes.

Look at them! Ack.......blues, greens, teals, so pretty.

For a mutual activity one night, (mutual is sort of like a youth group for our church) we went on a scavenger hunt around town.

This one was for the clue 'take a picture in a bathtub.'Thanks Sister Puffer, for letting us use your tub! Aren't we so creative? :)

One night, Kendall &Natalie and I tried to capture the perfect jumping shot with my camera. I haven't laughed so hard in awhile. I do love my little sisters.

That's all this time for 'little things.' :)

Highlights from Spring Break: The Trip of a Lifetime

Over Spring Break, I went to the East Coast with my mother. It was incredible. My eyes were opened to so many historical and amazing things and I don't think I'll ever look at the world the same way again. I always knew that there were places out there so different from our small town, but actually seeing them and experiencing the feeling of traveling was so unique and awesome. (My creative adjective button is sort of broken today, so you'll have to deal with 'incredible' and 'amazing' for now.)

I don't want to bore anybody (too late?) so I'll only include some of my favorite pictures and things from our trip. Here we go!

I'll start with this blurry yet awesome picture. If you've never seen Night at the Museum then you won't appreciate this, but I certainly did. Oh, and check out what else we found at the Smithsonian:

My chaperone said there was a resemblance. I didn't really appreciate that comment.

We also saw the National Cathedral. Most beautiful building ever.
Unfortunately none of my pictures do that place justice.

 My favorite memorial we saw.

Did you guys know that every way you turn in Virginia there is a photogenic spot? Seriously.

*sings* Start spreading the news.........Times Square, folks. Complete with the M&M store,
blinking lights, and a guy with a striped polo shirt that got in my shot. I seriously have no idea who he is.

We got to ride on a Subway, and on that day I learned why they don't have those where I live. It's because people like me will trip over absolutely nothing while trying to swipe the card to get through security. You've got to be an official New-Yorker to master the Subway. I haven't earned that title quite yet.

I hope I don't have to tell you what that is.

There is so much more I could post and perhaps someday I will, but for now this will have to do. Until my next post (which won't be annual, promise Patricia....) . :D

I need to go accessory shopping (brace-face no more!)

We have no school today due to three and a half inches of snow outside. SNOW! Craziness. But anyway, because we have the day off it gives me a little bit of time to post about the latest news from our neck of the woods.

I really need to go accessory shopping, guys. Why? Because the jewels I've been sporting for the past few years are finally gone! I am a brace-face no more!

Apparently I really need to go find a hairbrush too....yeesh.

I got my braces off this morning. It feels so weird, but so good at the same time! I'm really looking forward to getting to know tootsie rolls, apples, and caramel corn again. This is going to take some getting used to, but something tells me I'll survive.  :)
